Praying At Easter

by Donal Neary SJ

Price: £4.99
Publisher:Columba Press
Published:11 April 2011
This small book covers the fifty days of the Easter cycle from Easter Sunday to Pentecost Sunday. For each day the author presents three things, first the Gospel reading for that day, then a prayer suggested by the reading, finally a reflection inspired by the reading. The whole deals with the mystery of the resurrection of Jesus and looks intimately at every aspect of the story, from Mary Magdalene’s discovery of the tomb, through John and Peter discovering it empty, to Jesus’s several live appearances and to his final confrontation with the disciples on the fiftieth day. The author in his reflections insists that we ourselves are “the ministers of the resurrection”. This is very much a practical book to be used privately or in groups or in assembly. Above all it is a book that is to be read daily for instruction and prayerful reflection.
