The Lost Chords

The Parish Choir Tries Itís Best

by Reginald Frary

Price: £7.99
Publisher:Canterbury Press imprint of Hymns Ancient & Modern Ltd
Published:Summer 2009
Reginald Fraryís new book is as entertaining as usual. Far-fetched and exaggerated (or at least, I hope they are exaggerated!) stories of various village choirs who sing traditional Victorian hymns with more gusto than skill. Story after story tells of eccentric organists and choir members. Mostly they are a law unto themselves, often disliked and misunderstood by Vicars and congregations alike, but still carry on in their own sweet way regardless. Not choirs I recognise, but they are fun to read about!
