Review:
This book gives a real insight of how a Christian from the West views India, and how charitable organizations do their work in India. The author retells the stories she has been told by many people that Oasis helps.
The author covers in her interviews many different issues the people face, and these from people of a variety of ages. The organization started with a very few people and has now grown to work in three cities. Among the many interesting facts in the book are that the vast majority of the paid workers are from India and that many were helped and given training by Oasis in many different skills. Very few of the management team appear to be European.
The book gives a good insight into the working of Oasis
I would recommend this book to anyone interested in India and how voluntary organisations operate there.
