50 New Prayers From the Iona Community

Selected by Neil Paynter

Price: £10.50
Publisher:Wild Goose Publications
Published:March 2012
This is a lovely, but sadly not cheap, little book of some wonderful prayers, 50 as the title mentions, from across the globe but arising from within the Iona Community and/or its sister communities. They are, as one would expect from such a place, gentle but insightful prayers that cover a range of subjects and idea’s and would work well in a number of different circumstances, times and places from school assemblies to formal church gatherings.
I loved the prayers contained within this little book and I really liked the small section at the end of the book entitled ‘Thoughts on prayer from a scrapbook’ which is a collection of quotes, thoughts and ideas on prayer from a wide range of sources and faiths which can in turn help trigger your own thoughts, considerations and prayers. A lovely little book indeed.
