At All Times And In All Places
Prayers And Readings or Themed Celebrations Of The Eucharist
by Compiled by Simon Jones
Publisher:Canterbury Press imprint of Hymns Ancient & Modern Ltd
A beautifully bound book with some material that will be very helpful for anyone involved in preparing Eucharistic celebrations within the Anglican church.
This book provides well thought out votives—and a very nice introduction that explains what a Votive is and why and how to use them, and in turn the book—with full readings, prayers and collects for a number of occasions.
These cover church occasions such as Holy Baptism, Trinity Sunday and other celebrations within the church year, however also included are material for things of a much more global or community minded bent—so social justice, the environment etc.
The book then finally also a series of material for those more pastoral situations— homelessness, natural disaster, war and conflict etc.
This book therefore provides an incredible range of material that can be used simply and easily as is virtually straight from the book.
It is also helpful that each individual celebration section includes at the beginning a short context synopsis of the purpose of that Eucharist, where to find additional appropriate Common Worship texts, and finally what liturgical colours should be used.
Almost a must have for any Anglican Minister, ordinand or church resources shelf I would think.
