145 Myths About Christianity Debunked
by Jeffery Burton Russell
Publisher:Paternoster Press imprint of Authentic Media
Let me start by saying I really enjoyed this book, for someone that loves myth busting programs and books this was a really enjoyable read. It has enough weight to it to make it feel intense, insightful and real, giving a grounding on the 'myth' in all its glory and detail and then solidly putting up the case for why the myth just isn't real and doesn't work. However though deep and academic enough to do this it still maintains a certain 'flow' and speed to it that make it an enjoyable read and not a hard fought slog. Probably because 145 myths into 306 pages means an average of only about 2 pages per myth (though to be fair it's small writing and some take more pages than others but you get the idea!). This is a great book and I could see so many ways it could be used other than just a good read, for instance to give an overview to answering the most common objections to Christianity, and it would make a great housegroup discussion tool just for starters...
