Love Hurts

The Heart of The Christian Story

by Alan J Spence

Price: £8.99
Publisher:Paternoster Press imprint of Authentic Media
Published:March 2013
Christ's saving love is deeply manifest in this slim title. The grit of Christian discipleship is powerfully rooted here as the gospel gets faithfully unpacked. The detail of justice and judgement was particularly excellent as was the divine purpose and human will paradox section, concerning first move initiative.

I'd have loved more longevity and a substantive conclusion that landed the implications and application of Spence's faithful systematics and thematic exegesis. This is worth the work.

Just as Rob Bell's popularist Love Wins might be considered accessible, this title is all the more accurate! An essential pastoral reader.
