Review:
I have found this review difficult to write as I felt I would not give due justice to this exciting title. Jim Currin has been steeped in the subject of Evangelism for many years now, I first met him as Diocesan Officer for Evangelism in Cumbria, but he had been involved in Evangelism long before that and of course still is. He writes with passion and enthusiasm for his subject, and wants to encourage us all to share our faith.
In his introduction he writes ‘Sharing faith is personal but it is not private. It is doubtful that we would be Christians today if the disciples of Jesus had not told others in their day. We are links in a 2000-year old chain. So how are we to pass on the Good News of Jesus Christ? I believe the key is to see how Jesus did it himself.’
And this is what Jim sets out to do. His chapter headings explain his approach, the first being ‘ Jesus accepts you as you are.’ Making you take stock of your own faith. This is not a book to curl up with and just read. It is a book to work through, making notes for yourself and referring to suggested websites for further information. Possible to do on your own, but even better to do with a companion or in a group.
