Sermons From A Jesuit's Ministry
by Adrian Lyons
Publisher:Mosaic Resources distributed by Alban Books
Adrian Lyons is an Australian Jesuit priest with a wide experience of ministry in local parishes, as a university chaplain and as a writer with the Jesuit Refugee Service. His varied preaching ministry to educated urban congregations and country parishes has majored on the Lectionary readings in which he has sought to bring a fresh and imaginative approach to the Gospel. The book is divided three ways, drawing on his preaching in Lectionary years A, B and C and the selection of sermons and homilies ranges across most of the Bible. They are fairly brief, lively, arise from an active and creative mind, and come across as relevant to ordinary daily life. It's a book to dip into rather than read right through, particularly because it relates to the Lectionary year, and would make a good devotional gift for a friend, particularly for someone fairly new to the Christian faith.
