Review:

This short book is aimed at those who feel they have lost the sense of God's presence in their lives and who wish to restore it. Each chapter is based on the experiences of Moses and the children of Israel as found in the latter part of the book of Exodus.

Tom Elliff writes in a simple engaging style with an evident heart that we may know more of the Lord in our lives.

There is much that is helpful in this book, especially the emphasis on self examination for sin, prayer, Bible reading and keeping the Lord's Day. However I found some of his applications from Exodus a little mystical. For instance he suggests that when God is at work in a mighty way in someone's life we can see it in their countenance. Ultimately we believe that God is present in our lives by faith not by sight.
