The Seeker's Catechism

The Basics of Catholicism

by Michael Pennock

Price: £5.99
Publisher:Ave Maria Press from Alban Bks
Published:May 2012
The subtitle of the book is The Basics of Catholicism. It is written in a question and answer format and is based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It covers everything that pertains to Christianity, in particular Catholicism - God, original sin and the fall of Man, heaven and hell, good and evil, repentance and reconciliation, the Trinity, Mary and the saints, and the seven sacraments. It begins with the question 'Does God exist?' and goes on to the fullness of God's revelation in Jesus made flesh, then the free gift of faith and the Bible as God's self-communication. It finally deals with the primacy of the Pope as the successor of Saint Peter and the one who teaches unerringly the Word of God. This is a book both for Catholics who want to renew and strengthen their faith and for non-Catholics who want to know and better understand exactly what Catholics believe.
