The Three Essential Prayers

by Anne Lamott

Price: £12.99
Publisher:Hodder and Stoughton
Published:June 2013
This small book of only 102 pages is simply amazing. A book on prayer that surpasses all faith, denomination and big word bias and instead deals with the reality of heart and prayer - the honest talk and approach of those coming before God as real people in all their abject misery and overwhelming joy. Talking heart to heart and mind to soul Anne Lamott has written a stunning book and one that should be the first book given to people on prayer when they come looking because it goes past the "words" to the heart. The words it uses are easy to read, witty, intelligent and well written making it simple and clear to understand and follow and more importantly to believe. Prayer here is not a holy thing for the reserved few but is wholly a thing for everyone, and wherever they may be - it's an honest thing and a thing that God has made easy because it happens in the interior of us regardless of what others may think. Prayer is simple - Help, Thanks, Wow.
