Review:
Dave Tomlinson’s eye catching title invites you to read this book! He tells of unconventional happenings in his parish, highly appropriate for his non church going parishioners. He tells us more about some of these people and their Christian attitudes although they would not call themselves Christians. He writes ‘Christianity...as a spiritual practice rather than a belief system? That’s really what the rest of this book is about’ Page 10.
He says elsewhere ‘I am a bad Christian. I often struggle with church subculture and sometimes find myself more at home amongst honest ‘pagans’ and on page 104 he writes that it is ‘Out of my allegiance to Christ that I reverence the faith of others’. These sentiments he enlarges upon and I found his words inspiring and thought provoking, demanding a response from each one of us. So many wise words herein, this is a book to be read again and again and I promise you, new thoughts and responses will surface each time.
There is an Appendix explaining spiritual practices, another about the Enneagram and the third listing useful websites has a brief explanation of what each of them is about. There are other websites mentioned within the text e.g. www.jesuschrist.uk.com
