Review:

Story Assemblies for the School Year contains just what the title states. Edward Carter has a proven track-record of storytelling with primary age children and here the stories are essentially parables about God and events in the Bible creatively to enable children to engage with the big story of God's love for the world.

The book is divided into six themes each with six stories which can be used on a weekly basis.

The themes are God's Creation, the message of the Old Testament prophets, stories about Christian values, the story of Holy Week and Easter, Jesus' resurrection and ascension, and the journeys of the apostle Paul.

This is another useful resource for teachers who are looking for easily useable material for RE lessons or assemblies.
