The Reason for My Hope
by Billy Graham
Publisher:Thomas Nelson From TMD or Joining the Dots
If you are given any book by Billy Graham I believe it should be read with care and with respect.
This book supersedes all others he has written. Why? Simply because it contains the thoughts and wisdom of a man who has lived his faith, pronounced his faith and remained true to his faith over seven decades.
There are few people in this world who command the respect that Billy Graham does whether you adhere to his faith or agree with him or not. Presidents and world leaders respect him and thus his words hold merit and value.
Billy Graham's invitation is to offer everyone rescue from the world's gospel to God's Gospel. This book accomplishes this by looking at Hope: hope for us, hope for our families, hope for our world.
The book is grounded in the Bible and Billy Graham uses the Bible effectively in demonstrating where true hope is found.
There are many good examples that support Billy Graham's premise. Although for a UK reader some of the US references may be not fully understood but this does not detract from the message.
This is a good book for someone who is exploring God and the Christian faith as it is not a one-dimensional book but has depth and should make any reader consider and question.
For the Christian I think this is an excellent book to read, reminding ourselves of the Great Hope which our faith extends to us all.
