7 Simple Choices for a Better Tomorrow
by Bob Merritt
Publisher:Baker Books imprint of Baker Pub. from Lion
Published:24 August 2012
Bob Merritt, the senior pastor of a mega church in Minnesota, has based this book on the supposition that in order to live a fulfilling life of faith we need to learn certain disciplines. He defines a discipline as 'a behaviour, a way of living that you build into your life so that it becomes a way of life.' After the opening chapters, filled with honest testimony from his own life journey, he devotes a chapter each to seven 'choices' which he believes are foundational, and which will affect the rest of our lives. The first four choices are: 'Give it one more day (don't quit), Manage your loads (do a few things well), Give yourself time (be prepared) and Find your rhythm (increase your consistency). Each time we make one of those choices, we are building discipline into our lives. What impressed me most about this book was Bob's honest sharing about his own life and relationships - sometimes humorous and often deeply moving.
