Choose Joy

Because Happiness Isn't Enough

by Joy Warren

Kay Warren has written this challenging and searingly honest book to help us face up to a surprising fact: joy is a choice. She believes that we can find joy in spite of hard circumstances and in the middle of painful situations. We learn how to nurture joy in ourselves, but I especially enjoyed the chapter about nurturing joy in others. Kay is honest about her own weaknesses and failures and hard times so this is not a triumphalistic book. It is, however, full of hope. Kay writes specifically for women but I think men, too, would benefit from her wisdom.
