The first instalment in the Road to Kingdom series, Nancy Mehl has started on a good foot. I wasn't overly excited when I picked the book up to read but once I started reading I immediately warmed to the characters and thoroughly enjoyed the story.

For me, I love that the book deals with insecurities and how we perceive others in light of how we perceive ourselves, including how we relate to God. God's grace is sufficient and this is made clear along with his love and forgiveness.

The storyline was captivating with a love triangle that had me turning pages to see what would happen next. Even I was torn as to who Lizzie should love! The level of suspense was just right and while there weren't many twists it certainly kept me guessing until the mystery was unravelled.

This is a series to be read and having read the excerpt from the second book in the series. which is found at the end of Book 1, I can't wait for that to hit the shelves!
