From the Library of Charles Spurgeon

Selections From Writers Who Influenced His Spiritual Journey

Compiled by James Stuart Bell

Have you ever thought that you should read some of the writings of great Christians from the past but do not know where to start? Here is the book for you.
The compiler (Mr. James Bell) has chosen 26 authors who he believes heavily influenced the spiritual walk of C H Spurgeon. The book therefore opens with a brief biography of Spurgeon and the eight chapter structure reflects major themes from Spurgeonís life (such as prayer, evangelism and adversaries).
In all there are over 150 excerpts from over 100 books written by spiritual giants such as Jonathan Edwards, Matthew Henry, John Bunyan and Richard Sibbes. None of the excerpts are more than 2 pages long and the English appears to have been sensitively updated.
This book especially lends itself to be used in daily devotions. Highly recommended.
