Prayers from the Bible

by Lois Rock; Illus. Helen Cann

Prayers from the Bible is a great book to use with children or to give as a gift. Though it says prayers from the Bible they are not actual prayers straight from the Bible. They are reworked prayers and prayers based upon Bible verses - this works really well, keeping them insightful and relevant to children. In some respects some of the prayers do read more like poems, but that is not a bad thing at all and I can see them being very useful in either a Sunday school, or classroom setting for just that reason.

Of course it helps that the book has some lovely artwork that is a blend of traditional styling and modern imagery. As I said, a great book for using with children or for giving to children.
