Watching, Waiting, Walking

A prayer pattern and a discipleship path

by Andy Rider

Price: £7.99
Publisher:SPCK (Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge)
Published:October 2012
This little book is, on the authorís own admission, about 'habits', ones from which our lives may benefit, ones that may even bring us closer to God. Andy Rider has an easy style and a clarity that encourages us to take his trains of thought for our own. For instance, his watching leads us into prayer, a watching of ourselves that generates confession which can itself be the seed of rebirth. Similarly waiting and walking are explored in a way that reveals their 'holy habits'.

Andy Rider therefore encourages us into a more perceptive life that steadies our business and shapes our days so that God is able to work the mystery of his revelation through us. It is a worthwhile book and one I can certainly recommend.
