Lent for Everyone: Mark, Year B

by Tom Wright

Price: £6.99
Publisher:SPCK (Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge)
Published:January 2012
This book is the third in the Big Read series that lead us through a Gospel in Lent, following the well-established ‘For Everyone’ format. The bible passage is given in full in Wright's own translation, with two or three pages of comment (nearly always using an anecdote from the author's experience as a springboard) and a very short prayer.
When I was on retreat preparing for my present ministry part of God's word to me was to speak from the heart to the heart about the heart of the matter. I wish I could do it as well as Tom Wright! Occasionally this means that his writing has a touch of déjà vu about it, but the main thing is still the main thing, and whether as a Lenten discipline or Bible study at another time, this book has the potential to help transform lives at many levels of readership.
