Review:
The original initiative for this book came from the Millennium Group of Churches Together in England, which suggested the time was right for some revision of the traditional Remembrance services. The Royal British Legion expressed the view that the appropriate time for the publication of an official new service would be for use at Remembrance services in November 2005 and thereafter. This forms the first part of this book.
CTBI Presidents asked that the second part be developed out of the need for new material, to take into account other causes of widespread grief, and this collection is a first response.
The issue of the involvement of people of other faiths in acts of remembrance has been acknowledged, and the list of contributors demonstrates the wide range of sources these poems, prayers and readings come from.
